Amy leaves ego at the door, “there is no place for ego when working with beautiful families as you support them with the complexity of issues that led to separation”. Despite her wealth of experience spanning nearly three decades Amy presents as a real person who is genuinely interested and cares about every individual, child and family she works with.
Amy was the winner of the Family Law Peacemaker of the year for 2021/22 and a finalist in Mediator of the year. “I am humbled and honour to have had the privilege of working with so many families over the decades, I never take this for granted”.
Amy is also a founding member of The Kind Lawyers https://www.thekindlawyers.com/ - as the non lawyer.
Holding qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Business, Mediation, to name a few she is an accomplished practitioner who is soon to impart her expertise internationally on her work with children and separated families.
Clinically trained, Amy McGinn ensures the families she works with are treated with kindness, care and empathy as she understands the complexities of the separation space.
Being kind and generous is what Amy is all about. Amy is often heard saying, “to simply listen to another’s story and stay present to support the individual, family or child/ren is what it is about”.
Although Amy admits that the business name BREATH isn’t the easiest to google or perhaps was not the smartest name, it is symbolic to who she is. “BREATH is about taking a moment to be present, to slow down, listen and truly care”.
You should also know that Amy has a great sense of humour, loves champagne - sparkling, and to top it off is not afraid of to share with you how terrible she is at catch phrases and mis-pronouncing words!
A real person through and through who you may see on occasion out on the lake paddle boarding, well trying to!
